Chiropractic for Work, Sport or Personal Injuries

When muscle pain, aching joints or more serious injury keeps you from your normal daily activities or prevents you from working it is time to see a chiropractor. Sprains, strains, arthritis, repetitive injuries caused by household chores, manual labor, poor posture, work related or sport injuries, as well as stress can be the cause of pain.

Sleep is Vital to Good Health

A night of restful, regenerating sleep is most important for reducing daily stress and ensuring our body’s optimal health.  Sleep deprivation can reduce your reaction time, possibly resulting in an increased incidence of motor vehicle accidents.  It can also negatively affect your memory, create problems focusing, learning and decrease your immune system.  Lack of proper sleep means awakening with the body already in stress for the coming day which may cause low energy, irritability or a depressed mood.

Chiropractic Care for Sciatica

Sciatica is a general term that describes several possible symptoms in your lower back, hip and leg caused by sciatic nerve dysfunction, including pain that radiates down your leg, decreased sensation in your lower extremity and leg weakness.  Sciatica is a set of symptoms caused by compression or irritation of certain spinal nerve roots - branches of your spinal cord that exit your spine through gaps between your vertebrae.  Sciatic nerve pain is a symptom of an underlying health problem, not a medical diagnosis and it is most likely to occur in people between the ages of 30 and 50 years.  Your chiropractor is a musculoskeletal health expert who can diagnose the underlying cause of your sciatic nerve pain and offer relevant treatment options to help restore your health.

Chiropractic and Foot Care

Your chiropractor understands the importance of healthy feet on the function of your lower extremity joints and tissues, as well as on your spine and posture and will work with you to maintain or restore your foot health.  The chiropractic method of foot and ankle ailments involves natural methods of and is a conservative, non-invasive approach respecting your body’s inherent integrity and design.  Many chiropractors believe the foot, like the spine, can heal itself when proper structural alignment and tissue tone are restored.

Sacroiliac Joints and Chiropractic

Sacroiliac Joints (SI) may not be something many people are familiar with while others certainly know from painful experience.  The SI joints play vital roles in both body stability and movement. These large synovial joints of the pelvis join the triangular bone at the bottom of the spine (the sacrum) to the two big pelvic bones (the ilia) on either side. Although these are crucial weight-bearing joints, important for their part in the stability of the pelvis, they also move slightly for proper mechanics when walking or running.

Urban Gardening

With the growing cost of food in supermarkets these days, many people are turning to urban garden plots.  Whether these are back yard plots for family use or organized groups making use of vacant lots or patches in some parks that are allotted to nearby apartment dwellers, the practice has been growing for some years. Benefits: As well as the economic benefit of growing your own vegetables or fruit there are many other benefits.

Parkinson's Disease and Multiple Sclorosis

Rigidity, muscle tremors, poor balance and other symptoms of brain disorder are part of Parkinson’s (PD).  Medical treatments include drugs, brain surgery and brain stimulation that may temporarily control symptoms but neither stops nor reverses the progressive degeneration.1  Parkinson’s sufferers are turning to chiropractic.  Seven years after a 53-year-old man was first diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease he had rigidity in his left leg, body tremor, slurring of speech and memory loss.

Medicinal Herbs

Did you know you can grow some of your own natural medicinal ingredients in your herb garden or even your flower garden for that matter?  Most, if not all, common drugs have their roots – sometimes literally – in plant life, whether it is leaf, stem, flower, root or bark. Growing and preparing your own herbal remedies is not a huge chore.  You can add them to a meal, sprinkle them on a salad, infuse them by steeping in boiling water for teas.

Imagine being tired all the time with burning pain, muscle spasms and tender “trigger” points.  Add to that sensitivity to pain, heat, cold, bright lights, plus bowel/bladder problems, headaches, sleeplessness, and/or anxiety.  These are the symptoms of fibromyalgia. The cause of fibromyalgia is unknown, but believed to involve a combination of genetic and environmental factors with half the risk attributed to each.  The condition runs in families and many genes are believed to be involved.  Because the condition cause is not known, the name Fibromyalgia simply means:  fibro- New Latin meaning "fibrous tissues", myo- Greek,

The Pursuit of Happiness

Laughter is the best medicine, so the saying goes and it has been proven that a happy disposition is good for your health.  “Medicine and psychology have traditionally focused on deficits and dysfunction – what’s wrong with you and how to fix it – important information when treating illness. The science of positive psychology focuses on what’s right with you and how to promote it”.   A long term study of 2,000 Canadians volunteered to talk about their anger and stress at work.  Ten years later researchers followed up with the participants and those who were rated as happy people were less likely to have developed coronary heart disease. Dr. Taylor uses “Energy Medicine” techniques to help remove emotional blocks that may cause depression.

Cancer and Chiropractc

Why is there so much cancer today?  Why, in spite of a very expensive war on cancer, billions of dollars spent on drugs, chemotherapy, radiation and surgery has the survival rate of cancer today changed little in 50 years?

First realize the term “five-year survival” can be deceptive.  Years ago before MRI and CTs scans, by the time most tumors reached a size large enough to be detected it had been growing for many years. If the tumor was treated and a person lived five years after the tumor was discovered they were cured. At Advanced Wellness we don’t treat cancer, but we treat people who have cancer to live a healthier life style, to detox and remove emotional blocks that maybe an underlying factor in a cancer’s growth.

Age-Related Macular Degeneration

Macular Degeneration (AMD) is a common eye condition and the leading cause of vision loss among people age 50 and older – more than cataracts and glaucoma combined.  It affects over 10 million North Americans and at present is considered an incurable eye disease.1 Cause: AMD is caused by the deterioration of the central portion of the retina, the inside back layer of the eye that we need for sharp, central vision letting us see what is straight ahead.

Easy & Effective Strength Exercises

Strength training is an important part of an overall plan for health and fitness. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), strength training can help reduce the signs and symptoms of arthritis, diabetes, osteoporosis, obesity, depression and back pain.1 The CDC notes that strength training - the use of resistance to build the size, strength, and anaerobic endurance of your skeletal muscles - is safe and effective for people of all ages and people with existing health conditions often benefit most from engaging in several strength training sessions per week along with daily stretching exercises.

Lyme Disease

Lyme disease, also known as Lyme borreliosis, is an infection caused by bacteria. The disease is transmitted to humans by the bite of infected ticks through their saliva. Usually, the tick must be attached for 36 to 48 hours before the bacteria can spread. Most infections are caused by ticks in the nymphal stage, because they are very small and thus may feed for long periods of time undetected. It is estimated to affect about 300,000 people a year in North America and 65,000 people a year in Europe. Infections are most common in the spring and early summer. Lyme disease was diagnosed as a separate condition for the first time in 1975 in Old Lyme, Connecticut as it was originally mistaken for juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. Dr. Taylor diagnosed the first case of Lyme’s Disease in Columbus. GA in the mid 1980’s.

The Deceptive Nature Of Referred Pain

When you experience pain in a specific location in your body, you assume that something is wrong in the area where you feel the pain. In most cases, you would be correct. However, your chiropractor knows there are occasions when you feel pain in one area of your body and the problem is really in another area - sometimes far from the spot where you feel the symptoms. This is known as referred pain. Dr. Taylor is an expert in using the body’s energy the pin point the true source of your pain.

How Does Chiropractic Promote Overall Wellness?

Chiropractors know that adjustments are good for your general health. Millions of happy and healthy patients cannot be wrong, but what do chiropractors know that the rest of us do not? Chiropractors know the nervous system is the one system in the body that directly affects every other system. It is the body’s telegraph. Nerves conduct sensory information from every part of the body and then delivers this information to the brain. Dr. Taylor is a specialist among his peers spending 10 years traveling the country teaching other chiropractors his techniques for achieving outstanding patient results.

The most common areas afflicted by tendonitis are the shoulder, wrist, elbow, knee, heel and ankle. It is painful and can interfere with daily activities. North Americans Are in Pain

A National Health Interview Survey (NHIS) published in 2012 revealed that most North American adults have experienced some level of pain, from brief to more lasting pain and from relatively minor to more severe pain. An estimated 11.2% of adults had pain every day for the preceding 3 months and 17.6% of adults experience severe levels of pain. The survey also showed that those with severe pain were more likely to have a worse health status. Many individuals often feel there is nothing that can be done to help with their pain, but nothing could be further from the truth. With the advanced techniques that Dr. Taylor utilizes he has been able to help thousands to improve or eliminate their pain. Dr. Taylor has been told, "You are the answer to my prayers" by many of his patients.

Any unwelcome guests that made it past your borders (i.e. bacteria, viruses or other toxins) would be identified, isolated and ushered out expeditiously by these soldiers to keep your inner environment safe and sound.  As a Holistic practitioner Dr. Taylor uses a variety of techniques, in addition to chiropractic care, to aid the body's healing ability when dealing with autoimmune diseases.
